This shampoo alternative is so simple and it smells amazing! Here’s what you’ll need.
- Rosemary – about 5 sprigs
- Aloe vera 1cup
- Mortar and pestle
Bring the aloe to a gentle simmer. Meanwhile, use your mortar and pestle to beat up your rosemary sprigs, stem and all. No need to pulverize them, you just need to get the oils flowing. Add the rosemary to the aloe and simmer for 2 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it hang out for a while, 30 minutes or so will be fine. Remove the rosemary and pour the aloe in whatever shower friendly container you like.
I use somewhere around 1/3 of a cup per shower. I just separate my strands on my scalp and pour a little on and then work it around with my fingers. Once I feel like I have good coverage I let it sit for a few minutes then rinse. That’s it! After my hair is mostly dry I like to put a little jojoba oil on just the ends of my hair.
Feel free to customize your experience by adding other beneficial herbs! Rose petals, lavender, or gardenia would all add an amazing scent!
